Walking home, enjoying a measure of champagne, we passed a corner bar favoured by locals. An English guitarist pal, recently retired from the boats, invited us in. His wife, a percussionist who has worked with Van Morrison among others, joined us a little later. A little pettilante flowed. Perhaps, a little too much pettilante?
